TRENCH COAT, LACE SKIRT AND OTHER BEAUTIES

This is a look that was actually shot in my hometown Baku, but somehow I have never shared it with you. It is interesting to look back on my old photoshoots and notice how my views on style changed. For example, couple of years ago I wasn't paying as much attention to the brand and quality of the product than I do now. In my younger years in Baku I was more concerned about having more different clothes and not wearing the same attire more than two times. The wardrobe in my room in Baku was enourmously huge and also I was keeping my clothes in other places all over the house (mum's wardrobe, closet room etc.) and I am pretty sure that there are still some dresses with tags on somewhere in the depths of my family house. :)

Now in London I rarely go shopping, but when I do I try to buy some "timeless pieces" or something of a very unique design. As my grandma said quality over quantity is the best motto a woman can have.. not sure she meant clothes though ;)

Этот тренч look был снят еще в Баку, но у меня почему-то никак руки не доходили его выложить. Интересно смотреть на свои старые фотосессии и замечать как изменились мои взгляды на моду и стиль. К примеру, пару лет назад я не так сильно обращала внимание на бренд и на качество одежды. В мои более молодые годы в Баку я больше думала о количестве разнообразных платьишек и шортиков, и старалась не надевать один и тот же аутфит более двух раз. Мой шкаф в бакинской комнате и так огромный, так я еще умудрялась хранить вещи по всему дому (у мамы в шкафу, в гардеробной и т.д.), и я уверена, что где-то в глубинах дома моей семьи лежат потеряные одинокие вещички с неснятыми этикетками (а все из-за моей пагубной страсти к шоппингу :))

Сейчас в Лондоне я редко хожу по магазинам, но когда я все же делаю покупки, то это почти всегда что-то очень "вечное" и дорогое или что-то уникального дизайна. Как говорит моя бабушка качество высше количества - это лучший девиз женщины по жизни! Правда, не уверена, что она это говорила по поводу одежды ;)

THE TRENCH COAT

I always thought that classic trench coats are extremely sexy and the right one can easily make you feel like a Bond girl or as Michael Kors ones said “putting on a trench and you’re suddenly Audrey Hepburn walking along the Seine”. 

But when I spotted models at the runways and A-list celebs wearing a trench coat with leather sleeves, I was completely smitten. Wasn’t it the perfect idea of reinventing a timeless fashion item by adding leather details that still leave elegance and romantic aura of the classic trench, but give it a modern edge?  

After browsing through the internet I finally found the ONE – my perfect trench coat with leather sleeves by Walter Baker. I must admit that I have a temptation to buy the designer’s whole collection as every piece of clothing is so gorgeous, trendy and stylish. What a godsend for fashionistas!

Я всегда считала, что классический тренч – это очень сексуальный элемент гардероба, в котором легко можно представить себя девушкой Бонда или, как однажды сказал дизайнер Майкл Корс «надев тренчкот, женщина неожиданно превращается в Одри Хепберн прогуливающеюся вдоль Сены». Но, когда я увидела моделей на подиумах и мировых знаменитостей, облаченных в тренчи с рукавами из кожи, я была просто в восторге. Разве это не прекрасная идея обновить бессмертную классику, добавив кожаных деталей, которые оставляют ауру романтичности и элегантности классического тренча, но дают ему совершенно новый ультрамодный вид?

После долгих поисков в интернете и магазинах, я наконец-то нашла ЕГО – свой идеальный тренч с кожаными рукавами от Walter Baker. Хочу признаться, что теперь у меня есть соблазн скупить всю новую коллекцию этого дизайнера, так как все его вещи очень стильные, красивые и качественные. Какая находка для всех модниц!

COLOUR BLOCK FOR THE ART EXIBITION

Colour Block trend is still huge and I love it! This is my bright outfit I wore to Tora’s exibition  Double meaning. Torakhanim Agabeyova is very talented young Azerbaijani painter and also beautiful and interesting lady. She is getting noticed in the world right now and I hope she will have an incredible future-she deserves it. I took some pictures of her works that I like and also scanned some from her catalogue.

 After the exhibition, I ran to the Park Cinema where European Film Festival was held. We watched "Nicostratos le pelican" in French with Azerbaijani subtitles. The movie told us a lovely story about friendship between a boy and the Pelican. I haven’t really expected anything, but the movie was really great and touching and reminded me some of Emir Kusturica’s masterpieces. And it wasn’t just a coincidence! Emir by himself played one of the main roles in this movie! After the movie I had an honor of meeting the director of the movie - Olivier Horlait. I think he is the tallest man I have ever taken a picture with :)
